About Dr Stephen Lockwood
Dr. Lockwood is a highly-skilled professional, committed to providing his patients with exceptional dentistry available today. His advanced education began at UC Irvine and continued at Oral Roberts University School of Dentistry. He has continued his education through the Academy of General Dentistry CE programs and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry programs. With great passion, he pursues the latest, most advanced techniques in esthetic dentistry, implant dentistry, and orthodontics. He understands the role of General Dentistry to the public and advocates this through leadership positions with the Academy of General Dentistry and the San Diego County Dental Society. In 2012, he went to Washington DC with other AGD colleagues to meet U.S. Senators to advocate for safe dental care for the underserved.

We offer “Relaxation Dentistry” through non-IV oral conscious sedation, Laser dentistry, Dental Implants, Orthodontics / Invisalign, with state-of-the-art equipment to provide you with the most comfortable and professional care for all ages from Pediatrics to Geriatrics.
We are located in the beautiful city of La Jolla in the heart of the “Golden Triangle / UTC”, adjacent to UC San Diego, near the Westfield Shopping Mall. While many of our patients live or work in this area, we welcome patients from all over San Diego County.
Dr. Lockwood is surrounded by a very loyal team! Sharon and Cynthia our hygienists, Roxanne and Priscilla our assistants, and Gennie our office manager, are all here to provide caring and compassionate dental care, and able to answer any questions from dental care to dental insurance. Spanish translation available, and, we will accept and process your PPO dental insurance claims on your behalf.
- The first thing you must do is go to the dentist. Not just every now and again when something hurts or breaks but on a regular basis. Once or twice a year is a minimum. My regular patients rarely have major disasters.
- People neglect their teeth for all sorts of reasons. While cost is often given as the reason, fear, time and embarrassment are just as common.
